Frequently asked questions

Is it too wet to cut the grass?

We suppose that it depends on who you ask and what the grass cutting season has been like to date! Typically speaking there will be tell tale signs.

Am I (or my mower) sinking into the ground?

Is my mower leaving muddy tracks or scars in the grass?

When you walk on your lawn / areas of grass can you here the sound of water underfoot? / Are there any areas of standing water?

If we can answer yes to any of the above then yes, its far too wet to cut the grass.

Its worth remembering there's nothing quite like rainfall to nourish your outdoor space, and while as a nation we often complain about the wet weather just sit tight, most likely it'll dry out after a few days leaving a healthier lawn that can be cut without causing any unnecessary damage. In the mean time there are probably plenty of other tasks that can be done in the garden!

How will you quote my garden? Do you work on an hourly rate?

Once we receive your initial enquiry we will come and visit you and your garden. Its an important first step. It allows you to meet me and introduces me to your outdoor space.

We can have of a conversation, find out what you would like done and your expectations regarding the finish. But more than that we will learn; What potential access constraints may be present? Are we taking any cuttings and clippings off site? Will this be a series of visits over the gardening season or simply a one off visit?.

We do not work on hourly rates. Each job is unique and priced on its own merits.

Do I need to be home when you come to work on my garden?

No. We are fully self sufficient, we wont be sticking our head in the door asking for power or water. We will arrive with all of our tools in good working order.

Our mowers and strimmer's are petrol, our hedge cutters and blowers are battery powered (with spare batteries on standby as  required), shovels, forks and brooms are powered by the occasion cup of tea brought from home in a flask!

If you are home and want to say hello by all means please do, its always a pleasure to catch up and we enjoy a chat, but typically we will arrive, complete the work required and disappear without interrupting your day.
